TEC controllers are used for thermoelectric cooling and heating in combination with Peltier elements or resistive heaters. Peltier elements are heat pumps which transfer heat from one side to the other, depending on the direction of the electrical current. TEC controllers are used to drive the Peltier elements.
The following tutorial videos present the features of our products and explain how to set up our controllers step by step.

TEC Controller Product Overview

TEC Controllers

1.1 Basics / Setup

This series of videos explains the necessary steps to set up a TEC controller. As an example we configure and optimize it to keep an object at a constant temperature.

1.1.1 TEC-Family Controllers

This video is an overview for our TEC-family Peltier controllers. We present the most important features and discuss the advantages of DC current over PWM control, to drive Peltier elements.

1.1.2 Software Installation

Learn how to install all necessary frameworks and the service software for our TEC controllers.

1.1.3 Hardware

This video will show you how to prepare and solder temperature sensros and how to connect and set up the cooling application.

1.1.4 Temperature Measurement

To measure the temperature of an object and of the heatsink, some configurations have to be made for the different sensor types.

1.1.5 Peltier Element Characteristics

This video explains how to find the characteristics of a Peltier element and how to use these values to configure a TEC controller.

1.1.6 Temperature Controller

The goal of this video is to configure a TEC controller of Meerstetter Engineering to keep an object at a predefined constant temperature.

1.1.7 Auto Tuning

The final video of the setup series explains how to use the auto tuning function of the service software to optimize the parameters of the PID controller.

1.2.1 Thermoelectric Cooling Design

This video explains the basics of thermoelectric cooling. We exemplify important design steps to sucessfully design a thermoelectric application using TEC controllers and Peltier elements.
